Dos Ojos ("Two Eyes") is a cavern dive site located between Playa del Carmen and Tulum in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. The name refers to two interconnected sinkholes (cenotes) that form the entry points into an extensive underwater cave system filled with speleothems — stalactites, stalagmites, and other limestone formations shaped over millennia when the caverns were above water.
The maximum depth is 10 metres (around 9.8 m verified), making it a shallow, accessible dive. The terrain consists of cavern corridors and swim-throughs navigated with a torch, with notable light effects including beams filtering through openings and mirror-like reflections on the water surface. The bat cave — an air pocket chamber within the system — is a distinctive feature of the site.
Water temperature holds at 24–25°C year-round in the protected, freshwater environment, and visibility is excellent throughout the system. Diving here is accessible to Open Water certified divers and is considered suitable for beginners, though all cavern routes are dived with a certified guide.
