Dreamgate Cenote lies inland from the Riviera Maya coast in Quintana Roo, part of the extensive cenote system running through the Yucatan Peninsula's limestone bedrock, reached by a short drive from the main coastal towns into the jungle interior. It is a cave dive to a maximum depth of around 7 metres, rated advanced despite the shallow profile, with great visibility. The dive is a true overhead environment over a cave bottom, with fragile formations, tight passages, and silt among the confirmed hazards, and divers have also noted low ceilings, narrow angled intersections without permanent lines, delicate dripstone and soda straw formations, darkness, and dim light conditions inside. Reported sightings here include sea turtles, Atlantic blue tang, Atlantic sergeant major, crested goby, slippery dick, and Caribbean land hermit crabs near the entrance.
