Hat Island is a dive site in the Galápagos Islands, situated in the protected waters of Darwin Bay, where calm conditions make it accessible to both beginner and experienced divers. The site is reached by boat as part of a full-day excursion, with two dives typically conducted: the first to around 20–25 metres (65–85 ft) and the second shallower at 15–23 metres (50–75 ft), against a maximum depth of 40 metres. The bottom is sandy, and the protected bay setting keeps current light and visibility good.
The site is conducted as a drift dive, allowing divers to cover ground with minimal effort and suits those at beginner level and above. The combination of manageable depth, light current, and protected exposure means conditions remain relatively stable.
Marine life at Hat Island includes Pacific seahorses, white-tipped reef sharks, green sea turtles, moray eels, octopi, barracuda, manta rays, hammerhead sharks, stingrays, eagle rays, and sea lions. Blue-footed boobies are also seen in the area.
