Punta Bunga is a deep reef and wall dive site on the north-west corner of Boracay, sitting immediately beside Yapak and marking the start of a series of connected reef walls that extend toward that more famous site. Rather than a sheer drop, the terrain is a biodiverse sloping wall broken up by ledges, cubbyholes, crevices, and sandy patches, with a shallowest point of around 9 metres and a bottom depth reaching 30–35 metres. The structure gives the site more texture and shelter for life than a straight wall dive.
The recesses hold triggerfish, lionfish, groupers, and moray eels, while stingrays rest on the sandy bottom around 24–35 metres. Schools of fusiliers and surgeonfish move above the coral formations, and the site also produces reef sharks, whitetip sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, eagle rays, marble rays, tuna, octopus, and occasional green turtles. Manta rays are also recorded here.
Punta Bunga is a boat dive, reached in roughly 12–16 minutes depending on departure point. Timing the dive for tide and current is noted as an important consideration, though conditions are generally calm with good visibility and water temperature around 25°C.
The site suits intermediate to advanced divers who can hold a relaxed depth profile and monitor gas at the productive 30-metre band; Nitrox is a practical choice for extending bottom time at that depth. Open Water certification is listed as the minimum level in some references, but the depth and the need to manage gas make it most rewarding for divers comfortable in deeper water.
