About this site
Abu Telha lies along the Sinai coast near Dahab, in the Gulf of Aqaba stretch of the Egyptian Red Sea. This part of the coastline is known for fringing reef that drops off close to shore, typically accessed directly from the beach or by a short boat ride from Dahab town. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres over a reef bottom and is rated a beginner dive, though entry can be slippery and the terrain includes a deep canyon and many holes of varying depths. Triggerfish are common on the reef, and divers have also reported barracuda, eagle rays, nudibranchs, and stonefish here.
