About this site
Pavuvu is one of the Russell Islands, in Central Province of the Solomon Islands, northwest of Guadalcanal. The island is best known historically as a rest and staging base for US Marine divisions during the Second World War, and its surrounding waters remain lightly dived compared to nearby Guadalcanal and the Florida Islands.
