Ta Island lies off Pavuvu in the Russell Islands group, part of Central Province in the Solomon Islands, within the wider Solomon Sea where scattered small islands and fringing reefs are reached mainly by boat from the larger surrounding islands. The site sits over a reef, and divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, grouper, wrasse, hammerhead sharks, and oceanic whitetip sharks around it.
