About this site
Akanma (アカンマ) is a reef site on the east side of Tokashiki Island in the Kerama Islands, Okinawa, north of the ferry port, with a maximum depth of 25 m and weak current. Several channels cut through the shallow tide-pool area, holding sweepers and soldierfish, and a coral head further out has a skylight-like opening through which layered sea fans can be viewed. A large gorgonian at about 16 m makes a photo subject. Suitable from beginner level.
