About this site
After a collision with the Steemer Philadelphia, the Philadelphia began towing her towards shore but she took on water too quickly and sank. The Philadelphia picked up the survivors, but then that ship was also discovered to be sinking, and everyone reached safety via lifeboat. Lies in about 43.3 m — technical range; sank 1893.
