About this site

Alona House Reef sits directly off Alona Beach on the south coast of Panglao Island, near Bohol in the Visayas region of the Philippines. It is a shore-accessible reef fronting one of the busiest dive and tourist stretches on the island, with several dive operators based right along the beach. The site drops away as a wall reaching depths of up to 80 metres, though it is rated a beginner dive with light current and good visibility, so most diving stays shallow. Frogfish and nudibranchs are common finds on the reef, and divers have also reported clownfish, ghost pipefish and ornate ghost pipefish, mandarinfish, mantis shrimp, octopus, scorpionfish, and the occasional jack or amberjack passing by.
