About this site
The schooner Amranth was used as a towbarge at the end of her career. She was driven ashore while in tow of the steamer John H. Pauly and became a total loss, being pounded to pieces. Her crew was saved by the Pauly. The wreck lies mostly buried in the lake bottom. Lies in about 3 m; sank 1901.
