About this site

Anemone Garden lies among the small islands off Langkawi, on the Andaman Sea side of Kedah in northwest Malaysia, reached by boat from the island's resorts and jetties. It is a reef dive to a maximum depth of around 25 metres, rated a beginner site with light current and good visibility. Clownfish, fusiliers, sweetlips, trevally, tuna, and barracuda are regularly seen, along with lionfish, seahorses, squid, and even leopard or zebra sharks. Divers have also reported ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, mantis shrimp, groupers, and occasionally larger visitors like manta rays or whale sharks. The site takes its name from its anemones, which along with the coral are fragile and best left untouched, and some sources note a submerged pinnacle with no surface reference along with occasional surge in the shallows and passing boat traffic.
