About this site
Ann's Rock and Astrid's Wall lie off Tawhiti Rahi Island, part of the Poor Knights Islands group off the Northland coast of New Zealand's North Island. The Poor Knights sit within a marine reserve a short boat ride from Tutukaka, formed from volcanic rock that gives the area its walls, arches, and drop-offs. Divers on this wall have reported clown doris, Cook's scorpionfish, eastern king wrasse, eastern pigfish, New Zealand black angelfish, New Zealand demoiselle, and yellowtail kingfish moving along the rock face.
