About this site
Anse Major lies on the northwest coast of Mahé in the Seychelles, near Bel Ombre, and is best known on land as a secluded cove reached by a coastal hiking trail. The surrounding waters sit within the granite island shelf typical of the inner Seychelles, where rocky points and boulder formations extend into the Indian Ocean. The dive here is rated advanced, and divers have flagged current as a factor along with the site's general isolation, since access on foot is difficult and there is little nearby support if conditions turn.
