Apra Harbor

Apra Harbor is a large natural harbor on the western coast of Guam, sheltered by Orote Peninsula and an outer reef breakwater. It has long served as a major port and naval anchorage in the Mariana Islands, and its waters hold a cluster of well known wrecks, including the Japanese freighter Cormoran and the American SMS Cormoran-adjacent sites often dived together as a rare pairing of wrecks from two different world wars resting close to one another. Depths across the harbor vary widely depending on the specific wreck or reef area, ranging from shallow shore entries to deeper technical dives further out. Because the harbor mixes shipping traffic, varied depths, and occasional current near the mouth, some sites within it are considered suitable for advanced divers while others near shore are more accessible.
