About this site
The Arctic was caught in fog and ran onto the east side of Lighthouse Island in the Huron Islands. The ship's bow is in the gap between the Lighthouse Island and the small island offshore. Part of her engine and hull are in shallow water on the west side, but portions can be found as deep as 105 feet. Lies in about 32 m; sank 1860.
