Asmarqa Point lies off Tiga Island, one of the Loyalty Islands group that includes Lifou, in the Melanesian archipelago of New Caledonia. The Loyalty Islands sit east of New Caledonia's main island, Grande Terre, rising from a chain of uplifted coral formations in the southwest Pacific.
