Mid Reef sits in the waters around Tiga Island, part of the Loyalty Islands group off Lifou in New Caledonia, in the Melanesian region of the South Pacific. The reef systems here fringe a small, sparsely populated island between Lifou and Mare, with access typically arranged locally by boat.
