Baja Fria lies off El Hierro, the westernmost and smallest of the Canary Islands, in Spanish waters of the Atlantic off northwest Africa. The island's coastline is largely volcanic, dropping steeply into deep water, and its dive sites are typically reached by boat from towns such as La Restinga on the southern shore.
