About this site

Bajo Negro lies off the Guanacaste coast of northern Costa Rica, along the Pacific shoreline of this province known for its dive access points near Playas del Coco and the Catalinas. It is a rocky site reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres, rated advanced and known for great visibility. Surge is a factor here, and divers have also reported strong currents running through the site. Manta rays are a regular sighting, and divers have also reported eagle rays, mobula rays, and tiger sharks passing through.
