About this site
The Ryba tug Barbara Lyn foundered suddenly in deep water, at the cost of one life. Years later she was raised from a depth of 200-ft and was being towed to shallow water when a storm came up and she sank again, near Turnip Rock off the Thumb. The shallow water allowed waves to do greater damage, destroying the pilot house and making further salvage pointless. Lies in about 5.8 m; sank 1990.
