About this site
Batu Layar Point is a wall dive off Bau Island near Morotai, in the Maluku region of eastern Indonesia, at the northern edge of the Halmahera Sea. Morotai's coastline sits within the wider Coral Triangle, with small islands like Bau ringed by fringing reef and reached by local boat from Morotai's main settlements. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported bumphead parrotfish and Napoleon wrasse along the wall here.
