About this site
Loe Rao Point sits off Bau Island, a small island near Morotai in the Maluku archipelago of eastern Indonesia, along a coastline near the edge of the Halmahera Sea and typically reached by boat from settlements on Morotai or Bau Island itself. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, manta rays, snapper, and wobbegong sharks along the reef. Currents can pick up around full or new moon and during high tide, so timing the dive with the tide is worth checking before entry.
