About this site
Big Reef lies off the coast of Brunei in the South China Sea, within the country's coastal waters on the island of Borneo. Dive sites in this area are typically reached by boat from Bandar Seri Begawan or nearby coastal towns. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 19 metres, and divers have reported barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, grouper, and pufferfish around the site. Fish nets have also been noted as a hazard here, so care around any snagged gear is worthwhile.
