Big Sponge

Big Sponge lies along the leeward coast of Curaçao, in the Dutch Caribbean, where much of the shoreline consists of fringing reef accessible from shore or short boat rides. Sites along this coast are typically reached from the many dive operations based near Willemstad and the island's western shore. Divers here have reported Atlantic blue tang, sergeant majors, bluehead wrasse, queen and stoplight parrotfish, and yellowtail damselfish moving over coral formations that include Lamarck's sheet coral, lettuce coral, and symmetrical brain coral, with Caribbean land hermit crabs turning up along the bottom as well.
