Birds Island lies within North Male Atoll in Kaafu Atoll, one of the central atolls of the Maldives close to the capital region and its resort and dive operations. It is a wall dive, typically reached by short dhoni or speedboat trips from nearby islands and resorts. Divers have also reported manta rays passing along the wall here.
