About this site
Black Coral Point lies along the southern coast of Sri Lanka near Galle, a stretch of reef and rocky outcrop facing the Indian Ocean. It reaches a maximum depth of around 31 metres over a reef bottom and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported sweeping current, strong swells, and a dusty haze in the water here, conditions that add to the challenge. Fish life reported at the site includes fusilier, grouper, pufferfish, snapper, surgeonfish, triggerfish, and wrasse moving over the reef structure.
