About this site
Sunil Gala sits along the southern coast of Sri Lanka near Galle, in an area of bay and rock formations reached by small boats out of local harbors along the Indian Ocean. The site bottoms out at around 18 metres over a rocky seabed. Divers have reported angelfish, grouper, nudibranchs, surgeonfish, and triggerfish around the rocks, and surge along with a risk of coral damage have also been noted here, so care around the formations is worth keeping in mind.
