About this site
Black Cove sits along Tenerife's volcanic coastline, part of the Canary Islands off northwest Africa in the Atlantic. The site takes its name from the dark basalt and lava rock formations that shape the coves and points typical of this shore, and it is reached by boat or a short shore entry from nearby coastal towns. It reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres, making it a shallow site suited to exploring the cave and rock structure without needing to go deep.
