Blue Coral

Lang Tengah Island sits off the coast of Terengganu in Peninsular Malaysia, between the better known islands of Redang and Perhentian in the South China Sea, and is reached by boat from the mainland jetties around Kuala Terengganu or Merang. Blue Coral is one of the reef sites in these surrounding waters, and it is a demanding one, reaching a maximum depth of around 53 metres over a reef bottom with strong currents, rated advanced overall. Divers have reported a deep underwater tunnel here along with sudden depth changes, and hazards such as nitrogen narcosis at depth are worth keeping in mind. Marine life sightings have included barracuda, eagle rays, snapper, wobbegong sharks, and even mola mola.
