About this site
Baa Atoll sits in the central Maldives and is designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, known for its channels and reef formations that attract manta rays and whale sharks seasonally, particularly around Hanifaru Bay. Amilla Fushi is a resort island within this atoll, and the Blue Hole site nearby is reached by dhoni or speedboat from the resort's house reef and surrounding channels. It reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated an advanced dive, with divers reporting it as a drift dive with strong current. Divers have also reported frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, nudibranch, and triggerfish among the reef life here.
