About this site
South Bimini sits at the edge of the Great Bahama Bank, on the western fringe of the Bahamas not far from Florida across the Gulf Stream. The Blue Hole here drops to a maximum depth of around 61 metres, making it a technical dive rather than a casual bank dive. Sites around this part of Bimini often involve a mix of shallow bank terrain and drop-offs where the bank gives way to deeper water, and this hole is one of the places where that transition happens abruptly. Divers have also reported grouper around the site.
