Blue Wall (Blue Hole)

The Blue Wall lies off the island of San Andrés, part of the San Andrés and Providencia archipelago in the western Caribbean belonging to Colombia. This site is a wall dive where the reef shelf drops off into deep water, a common feature along the island's fringing reef, and it reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres. It is rated an advanced dive, in keeping with the depth involved on the drop-off. The reef here has also been noted for its coral cover, with divers reporting boulder star coral, greater star coral, lettuce coral, lobed star coral, massive starlet coral, and mustard hill coral along the wall. Local dive operators run trips out to this and nearby wall sites from the main town area.
