Boulder City lies among the dive sites of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal known for its granite boulder formations both above and below the waterline, and sites in this island chain are typically reached by boat from hubs like Havelock Island or Port Blair. The site itself sits over a rocky bottom and reaches a maximum depth of around 35 metres, rated an advanced dive due to strong currents. Barracuda and Napoleon wrasse are regularly seen here, and divers have also reported angelfish, batfish, bumphead parrotfish, butterflyfish, eagle rays, fusiliers, leopard sharks, lobster, manta rays, octopus, pipefish, reef sharks, seahorses, sweetlips, and trevally around the boulders.
