About this site
Honeymoon Bay is a bay on Koh Miang, one of the smaller islands in the Similan Islands group off the Phang Nga coast of southern Thailand. The Similans sit in the Andaman Sea and are reached by boat from the mainland, typically as part of a park visit or liveaboard route through the island chain. The site sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of around 20 metres, with medium current, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, clownfish, fusiliers, lionfish, mackerel, nudibranchs, octopus, pipefish, scorpionfish, seahorses, snapper, squid, trevally, and tuna here, along with leopard sharks resting on the sand. Lionfish and occasional strong current have also been noted as hazards worth keeping in mind.
