About this site

Bungalow Bay South Wall is a wall dive on Racha Yai near Phuket, at the southern end of a bay with a deep curve where both sides can be dived. Depths run from 5 to 20 metres, the current is mild to moderate, and it suits beginners.

The reef is very shallow along the wall close to the beach, with coral blocks on white sand. Going deeper the terrain changes to boulder formations extending to around 20 metres, with soft and hard coral in the middle of the dive. Reef balls, artificial reef that has been in place for many years, carry coral and sponge growth and are often used by octopus as hiding places.

Schooling barracuda are often seen, moray eels live in the rocks, and stingrays lie half buried in the sandy hollows. In the boulders at the end of the dive look for hawksbill turtles and many clownfish in the anemones.
