About this site
Buruanga Reef lies off the Buruanga peninsula on the northern tip of Panay Island, across the strait from Boracay in the western Visayas. The area faces the Sibuyan Sea and Tablas Strait, with several small coastal barangays serving as jump-off points by boat. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have also reported hammerhead sharks and manta rays passing through the site.
