Butler Bay lies off the west coast of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, an area known for a cluster of wreck sites sunk as artificial reefs. The site reaches a maximum depth of about 14.6 metres and is generally considered an intermediate dive. Divers have also reported barracuda patrolling the area.
