About this site
Calabash Caye sits on the eastern side of Turneffe Atoll, off the coast of Belize District in the western Caribbean. It is home to a marine research and education station, and dive sites in the surrounding waters are reached by boat from the caye itself. The wall dive here reaches a maximum depth of about 15.2 metres and is rated a beginner site. Divers have reported garden eels, moray eels, and sea turtles along the reef.
