About this site
Canaloni lies along the Lazio coast near Santa Marinella, a stretch of the Tyrrhenian Sea within the Metropolitan City of Rome. This coastline north of Civitavecchia is known for its rocky shore diving spots reached from small local harbors. Divers here have reported yellow and white gorgonians along with Mediterranean zoanthids and yellow cluster anemones on the rock, alongside European spiny lobsters, marbled crabs, and striped hermit crabs tucked into crevices. Atlantic purple sea urchins have also been noted on the bottom, and mauve stingers and by-the-wind sailors have been spotted drifting through the water column.
