Sassone

Sassone lies along the Tyrrhenian coastline near Santa Marinella, in the Metropolitan City of Rome in the Lazio region of Italy. This stretch of coast north of Rome is known for its rocky outcrops and small coves, typically accessed from the shore or by short boat trips from local dive centers along the Santa Marinella waterfront. The rocky bottom here supports a range of gorgonians, including yellow and white gorgonian and violescent sea-whip, alongside cushion coral, Mediterranean red coral, and Mediterranean zoanthid encrusting the rock. Divers have also reported marbled crabs, yellow cluster anemones, and mauve stinger jellyfish drifting through the water column in the area.
