About this site
Canyon Reef lies off Roatan, the largest of Honduras's Bay Islands, in an area fringed by the Mesoamerican Reef system. Dive sites along this coast are typically reached by short boat rides from operators based in West Bay, West End, or the island's other coastal communities. Canyon Reef itself is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 18 metres. Divers here have reported eagle rays, lobster, moray eels, and nurse sharks along the reef.
