About this site

Cape Kri holds a genuine world record: on a single dive here, ichthyologist Gerry Allen counted 374 fish species — the most ever logged in one dive anywhere. That density is the draw. The reef slopes and drops off the tip of Kri Island in the heart of Raja Ampat, and when the current runs it stacks up walls of jacks, snapper, barracuda and fusiliers with sharks and groupers holding beneath. Current-dependent and best on a rising tide; intermediate to advanced.
