Caracasbaal (Lost Anchor)

Caracasbaal, also known as Lost Anchor, lies along the southwest coast of Curaçao, part of the stretch of shore diving sites strung along the leeward side of the island facing the Caribbean Sea. Like many sites in this area, it is reached by rental car and a short walk over ironshore or rock before entering the water directly from the coast. It is a wall dive reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres, rated an advanced site. Divers here have reported Atlantic blue tang, sergeant majors, blackbar soldierfish, and brown chromis around the reef structure, along with lettuce coral, stoplight parrotfish, trumpetfish, and yellow goatfish.
