About this site
Carey Bay lies along the shoreline of Utila Island, one of the Bay Islands off the Caribbean coast of Honduras, southwest of Roatan and reachable by a short boat ride from town. Utila is known chiefly as a low-cost diver training hub with easy access to nearby sites. Divers here have reported green morays, nurse sharks, common lionfish, red cushion sea stars, and Caribbean land hermit crabs along the shoreline, and whale sharks have also been spotted in the area.
