About this site
Carmel Meadows lies along the Big Sur coastline just south of Carmel Bay in Monterey County, California, near the mouth of the Carmel River. This stretch of shoreline sits along the boundary of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, backed by coastal bluffs and open Pacific swell. Divers here have reported bat stars, blue rockfish, giant sea stars, Pacific purple and red sea urchins, and white-spotted rose anemones among the rocky reef life.
