About this site

Catalufas lies off the coast of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, an archipelago in the Atlantic off the northwest coast of Africa. The site takes its name from the catalufa, or bigeye fish, sometimes found in caves and overhangs along this volcanic coastline. It is a shallow reef dive reaching around 7 metres, rated beginner, making it an easy site for less experienced divers. Divers here have reported cuttlefish, damselfish, lizardfish, octopus, seahorses, and stingrays over the reef.
