About this site
Palinuro sits on the Cilento coast of Campania, in the province of Salerno, known for its limestone cliffs and network of sea caves along the cape. The Cattedrale takes its name from the cavern formations typical of this stretch of coastline near Centola, where boat trips from the harbor town run out to explore the grottoes. Divers here have reported European spiny lobster along with a mix of encrusting life on the rock walls, including Mediterranean red coral, pig-tooth coral, star coral, sunset cup coral, yellow cluster anemone, and yellow gorgonian.
