About this site
The Cedarville is a wreck site in the Straits of Mackinac off the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, near Cedarville and Mackinac Island. The ship it is named for, a limestone-carrying freighter, sank there in 1965 after a collision in fog. It lies in the cold, fresh water of Lake Huron near the strait connecting Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, with a maximum depth of around 19.8 metres and is rated an intermediate dive.
