About this site
Chun-Zumbul Deep lies off Playa del Carmen on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, in Quintana Roo, Mexico, reached by short boat trips from the town's marinas. It sits along the limestone reef structures typical of this stretch of coastline, reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres. Divers have reported bull sharks, grouper, moray eels, octopus, sea turtles, and snapper around the reef here.
